Iggy Pop

I overall enjoyed this project, even though I’m not particularly good at very detailed/realistic human faces. But I like how the various medals and military regalia on the clothing turned out in the final painting. The tree in the background was made by constantly mixing different amounts of black, white, and green and then dabbing the canvas repeatedly with my brush like one of those old do-a-dot markers from the early 2000’s. Towards the end of the process you can see that what was supposed to be Iggy Pop was instead beginning to look like a melted Marlon Brando. But thankfully I managed to salvage it by adding some greatly needed facial lines and details with a few paint markers I had brought with me. Now he looks like some obscure gospel singer from the mid 1970’s. All in all, I had a lot of fun painting this, butter face aside.
